Moss Vale Dentist – Our Team
DR A. Nikgoo – Your Pain Free Dentist in Moss Vale
I have always aspired to be the best “Pain Free Dentist” I can be and to build a caring professional team.
From beginning practising dentistry in the private sector in 2001, I moved from Tasmania to New South Wales in May 2014 to become Principal Dentist and owner of this respected Southern Highlands Dental Practice. I renamed the practice to the Pain Free Dental Clinic to reflect my strong belief in creating a pain-free experience. Many clients have painful memories of their early experiences in the dental chair which can bring back stress and fear. My aim is always to explain all options and create a low-stress experience, free from dental pain.
From my earliest days, I took great interest particularly in pain-free Root Canal work, Dental Bridges and Dental Implants and I enjoy specialising in each of these. Ongoing education and promotion of best practices in dentistry are important to me so I enjoy being an active member of the editorial board of an online dental journal and an accredited member of the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry. I’m proud to have had five of my articles published in outstanding dental journals.
I also love to explore Australia attending training courses and to travel further afield to bring dental care to those who without access, most recently a pro bono/charity implant placement in Cambodia(2013) and Laos(2015), which was both challenging and rewarding.
I look forward to meeting you in person and to become your Pain Free Dentist in the Southern Highlands.
Susy Wilkin – Dental therapist & Dental Hygienist
Pain Free Dental is excited to announce that the team is growing. It’s long been our goal to offer you the most modern treatment and convenience possible, so we’re bringing on a dental therapist to open more time slots to our patients.
We’re excited to announce that we’re expanding our Opening Hours to include treatments and opening hours for Fridays. You’ll also see a new face around the practice; Welcome to Susy Wilkin! Susy is a highly skilled dental therapist local to the Southern Highlands. Suzy is keen to serve and has joined us to deliver more services to you. In addition to scaling, cleaning, and gum care for most patients, dental therapists examine and treat diseases of the teeth in pre-school, primary and secondary school children, under the general supervision of a dentist. Susy is passionate about teeth, gums and oral health.
Susy studied Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene at Curtin University in Perth, where she practised in private practices and spent 8 years at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. While at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children she completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (1993) at Curtin University W.A. majoring in Health Education and Human Biology. An opportunity arose to move to NSW (closer to the snow) some 13 years ago and she has worked in the Illawarra and Southern Highlands area ever since.
She’s a teacher too
Susy has also completed her Cert IV in Education, part-time Training and Assessment and part-time lecturer in Dental Studies at Shellharbour TAFE. She loves learning as well and attends as many continuing dental education courses as she can. Her children complain that she manages to slip a bit of information about teeth into every conversation!
She loves being part of a country town community and belongs to the Yarnspinners and the Southern Highlands Textile and Fibre Network, not going a day without knitting, spinning or felting something. When she’s not at home she’s spending her holidays doing volunteer dentistry in Vietnam (yes, dentistry on holidays!) or following her snow worshiper husband skiing somewhere. With Susy on board, we aim to reduce your wait time before and during treatment while keeping our passion for the highest standard of care possible.
